If you happen to be in town this weekend, the Montreal World Film Festival is showcasing a bunch of coms work. Like Cinema L’Amour, for instance, which screens August 26th at 5pm at the NFB theatre downtown. I hear the sound design is really sexy.

If it was part of the original other festival, the New CInema or whatever one not the failed one of last year, they probably would screen it at Cinema L’Amour. IN 1995 or 96, that festival, when it shifted to June for a few years, screened some films at a peep show.

Cinema L’amour (the movie) is a short video doc a couple of friends of mine made and which I helped out on with sound recording and design. We wanted to have the premiere at Cinema L’amour (the theatre) but they were going to charge us like a thousand bucks, as if that’s what they would make if they kept it open.
and actually I had 2$ pad thai. i should have stuck with the chowmein.
